2)  Seeking Tiger Scouts (first grade boys)

Hello Everyone!
I wanted to send out a quick email in hopes to find anyone interested in joining Cub Scouts. My husband is the Tiger Den leader of Pack 451 and our close friend is the Cub Master. My son, who is in 1st grade, is so excited to join scouts, however we have not had any other 1st graders join. We need at least 2-3 more 1st grade boys to make a Tiger Den.

Pack 451 is a very fun and active group. We have 1 Pack meeting a month located at Christ the King Church,in South Bend. We also have 1 -2 Tiger Den meetings a month. These activities are to fulfill badge requirements and are always a lot of fun for the boys. We have not decided on a meeting location for the Tiger Den meetings as we want to make the location convenient for all the scouts. This location will be decided once we have more Tigers join.

If anyone is interested, please contact me and I will gladly send you any information you need.
Thank you,
Kelly Young  kayoung24@yahoo.com

MICHIANA EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES

1) Family-friendly Play--tonight!
2) Community Invited to Bless Bethel College Bookstore and Coffeehouse
3) Bethel College Play
4) Bethel College Orchestra Presents Free Chamber Concert

1) Family-friendly Play--tonight!

Theatre for Children and Young Adults will be presenting "All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play" this Friday October 19, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Community Congregational Church in South Bend (on the corner of 933 and Cleveland Rd.--a couple miles south of Niles Wal-mart).  The Main Attraction, Kelsey Hartman, and Cameron Wardlaw will be performing some great opening music. Great hilarious family entertainment that showcases the humorous pitfalls and comical portrayal of our life in theatre . Tickets $4 at the door. There are some great homeschool kids in this production. Come on out and support this great program and the fantastic kids involved in it.

2)  Community Invited to Bless Bethel College Bookstore and Coffeehouse

Bethel College's auxiliary services invites the community to participate in blessing the newly expanded bookstore and coffeehouse located on campus on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012,  from 4-6 p.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to write their favorite scripture verse or well wishes on the subfloor as well as get a sneak peak at the inside of the new building. The expanded bookstore will also become home to Sufficient Grounds coffeehouse, which is currently located on McKinley Ave.

"It will serve as a gathering place for students and faculty. Its location will also make it more accessible and convenient for folks to patronize it after events in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center and athletic events in the Wiekamp Athletic Center," says Ed Bernhard, Bethel's director of auxiliary services.

Construction for the $1.1 million facility is expected to be completed in November 2012. Sufficient Grounds will be open at its current location until November.

3) Bethel College Play

The Bethel College theatre department presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare, Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now.
"Midsummer" is one of the great comedies by William Shakespeare. A complex farce, the play revolves around the adventures of four young lovers, Hermia & Lysander and Helena & Demetrius. Their romantic intrigues are confused and complicated by fairies who inhabit the forest they enter. A story that will entertain young and old, Shakespeare's comedy tells the tale of two couples who fell in love with the wrong partners, but, thanks in part to the bungling work of Puck, are finally reunited with their true loves.

FIELD TRIP PRICE $5 Students & Non-Teachers, Teachers are free. 9:30 am, Nov. 1.

Contact Bethel College directly for tickets (574) 807-7080.

4) Bethel College Orchestra Presents Free Chamber Concert

The Bethel College Chamber Orchestra will present a free concert to the community on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center. The orchestra will be conducted by Associate Professor of Music Vicky Tan Warkentien, D.M.M.

Repertoire for this fall's program includes: the Second movement of Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 by Rachmaninoff with senior Jessica Risinger as soloist; the First movement of Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major, K.219 "Turkish" by Mozart with sophomore Lydia Klassen as soloist, Concerto Grosso for String Orchestra by Ernest Bloch, the First and Last movements of Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 by Beethoven, and excerpts from "A Tapestry of Carols" by Marilynn Ham.
