10) YMCA Storer Camps Choose Your Own Adventure day

Hello,
My name is Derek Bycraft, and I work at YMCA Storer Camps in Jackson, MI.  I was recently placed in charge of our "Homeschooler's Day" program.

YMCA Storer Camps is once again offering a full day of educational classes mixed with camp activities on April 5th, 2018.  You may have noticed "Homeschooler's Day" in parenthesis as we have rebranded the day as Choose Your Own Adventure Day.  The focus of the day is the same as it has been it the past; the name change was made to better reflect the programming being offered.

We have an event page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/163076817657129) and an online registration page https://register.ymcatoledo. org/ymca/pgdetail.php?id= 127725 for more reference.

Choose Your Own Adventure day is a mix of hands-on learning experiences and camp fun.  Kids will be able to do traditional camp activities while exploring their surroundings with STEM-based learning and enjoy a delicious lunch provided in our dining hall.  There are three paths kids can choose to go on for the day focusing on either survival, science or animals.  Each option includes three outdoor education classes and a typical camp program (canoeing, rock climbing or a pony ride).  Once classes have concluded, there will be an opportunity to choose another camp activity such as archery, fishing or one of the activities in a track your children wasn't already in (e.g. canoeing is offered in the Explore path, we ask that you choose another activity to allow others the experience).  If you would like to do a horse ride for the Choose Your Activity period, please note there is an additional $10 fee and prior registration is required.  For any questions or comments, please contact Derek Bycraft via email at dbycraft@ymcastorercamps.org.
