GENERAL INTEREST

G1) The HUB supports learning in the community

G1) The HUB supports learning in the community

What does the Homeschool HUB do besides support homeschoolers with a phone line and website and newsletter and yahoo group to share information, events, and ideas?  Besides the annual Showcase in the spring to let homeschoolers show off their skills and talents and projects and achievements?  Besides the annual Info Night in the fall to let homeschoolers connect with clubs, groups, tutors, and businesses that could help them?  Besides the classes we sponsor?  Well, the Homeschool HUB just donated two laptops to local Robotics teams (one to each team).  Now the future robot engineers of America have what they need to learn their craft--or at least the kids on the team have what they need to learn, build robots, problem solve, and compete.  Go get 'em!

[HUBnewsletter] Special Notice

Many of you may know the Moss family, a homeschooling family from the South Bend area.  Dr. David and Tammy Moss.  Their daughter, Sarah Moss (13) passed away recently.  Sarah was involved in robotics and Life for Christ Karate, among other things.

Here is a copy of an email sent out by Sarah's father that includes information about funeral services in case anyone wishes to pay their respects:

Hello Again Everyone,

Here are the arrangements for Sarah's Home Going Celebration. It will be held on Monday evening, January 14, 2013 at Faith Apostolic Ministries in South Bend. The address is 909 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN 46628. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the Celebration Service beginning at 6:30 p.m. We will also have a service in Tallahassee, Florida later in the week and will bury Sarah there. Many have expressed an interest in supporting our family and we have felt the love of God in a powerful way through the meals and other items you have provided to keep our family going. We can't thank you enough for your compassion during this important time for our family.

Peace,

David
