1)  Gap Year Internship for High School Seniors

Hello, I am writing about an exciting opportunity for a gap-year internship program at Grace Adventures in Silver Lake, MI for graduating seniors.

The choice between college and the workplace is scary. With the rising costs of college tuition, going in without a plan can be frustrating and expensive. The Ascent Gap Year Program will give students the freedom to explore options, find their passions, and will focus on intentional education to leave them prepared for any path.

The purpose of the Ascent program is to provide High School graduates with a short-term, full-time, real camp ministry experience.  They will be equipped both personally and professionally in character-based servant leadership.  It is our desire that each Ascent student would leave with a better understanding of him or herself, have a clear direction of God's purpose for their life, and an action plan to fulfill that purpose.

For more information about the Ascent program including program features, information about earning college credit, and student qualifications please see our website below.  We would love to discuss this experience with you or send you more information.

4) Bethel College Hosts Workshop on Natural Family Planning

Bethel College will host a free community health workshop for anyone who wants to learn more about the Creighton Model FertilityCareTM System. The system is used for family planning and is also highly effective for identifying and treating health issues such as endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovarian disease, infertility, and recurrent miscarriage, among others.

The workshop will be on Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m. in the Middleton Hall of Science – Octorium on Bethel's campus. Suzy Younger from Saint Joseph Health System will be the presenter. Younger is a Certified FeritilityCare Practitioner and is coordinator of the Saint Joseph FertilityCare Center.

Associate Professor of Nursing Richard Becker organized the workshop for Bethel's pre-med and nursing students in order to broaden their knowledge in this area, but he hopes anyone who wants to learn more about women's health and family planning will attend.

"Women's health care ought to incorporate the latest and best science while respecting the natural integrity of female physiology," says Becker. "FertilityCare education provides clinicians and students an opportunity to expand their knowledge in this area, especially with regards to natural family planning alternatives to both spacing pregnancies and achieving them. Plus, couples in their childbearing years, as well as all young women contemplating marriage and raising a family, will benefit from this introduction to the ways in which they can fully cooperate with God's design for bringing new life into the world."

Corydon Capitol Historic Site is planning its 5th annual Homeschool Day, a day of activities specifically devoted to home schooled students.  We are able to offer several different programs/activities that meet many Indiana educational standards.  All of the activities will be centered in downtown Corydon, which served as the First State Capitol of Indiana from 1816-1825.  Activities will focus on early statehood (including a tour of the Capitol building, built 1816), life on the Indiana frontier, the Underground Railroad, and more!  Our staff are all certified interpreters and present to hundreds of school children each year.  For more information on the unique history of Corydon, please see: http://www.indianamuseum.org/sites/cory.html

This year's event is being held April 27th, 2016 from 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. EST.  There will be a break in the middle of the day for lunch on your own.  Home school families from across the state of Indiana are welcome to attend.  The price is $5/student, with parents being free.  Reservations are required in advance and can be made by calling the site to pay with a credit card (812-738-4890) or by sending a check to the address below.  After you register, you will receive more information about the day.  Groups are welcome!
