G2) PHC Summer Leadership Camps

We are excited to announce the opening of registration for the 2016 summer camp season! We are grateful for your continued interest, and we're tremendously excited about the opportunity to serve you and your kids again this year.

You'll see below that we're bringing back several of the old favorites, including Moot Court, Strategic Intelligence Levels 1 & 2, and Constitutional Law; we're also happy to offer three brand new camps: Sonnets, Singing & Stage, COLLEGE BOOTCAMP: Explore Writing, and Whose Truth? When Worldviews Collide. For your convenience, we have listed the camp schedule below, but you'll find this information and more by following this link.

1)  Michiana Homeschool Resource & Curriculum Fair--tomorrow!

1st Annual Michiana Homeschool Resource & Curriculum Fair will take place tomorrow--Saturday, March 5, at Ring Lardner Middle School, 801 N. 17th St. in Niles, MI.  Doors open from 9 am to 3 pm.

Come check out these opportunities:

Used Curriculum and Educational Materials for sale--Abeka, Miquon, Singapore, and lots more at bargain basement prices!  Pre-school through adult.
New Curriculum Vendors to show and sell their wares
Homeschool Support Groups
Local Community Resources and classes

This is open to any and all parents, students, or homeschoolers and maybe-wanna-homeschoolers.  If you want info, if you want to check out curriculum, if you want to buy curriculum or educational materials, if you want to know about classes or opportunities in the area...you are welcome.  Families, kids, and people of all ages are welcome.  Invite your friends, pass it on.  The more the merrier!

The event will take place in the gym.


2) Michiana Spring College Fair

 Bethel College will host the Michiana Spring College Fair on Thursday, March 10, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Wiekamp Athletic Center. More than 50 colleges/universities and organizations are expected to attend.

High school students from South Bend and Elkhart schools will be transported to Bethel for the fair. Sponsors and cosponsors for the event include: Bethel College Office of Diversity & Inclusion, Bethel College Admission Office, JAG (Jobs for America's Graduate), 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and Indiana University South Bend.

"The Michiana Spring College Fair is a great opportunity for local high school students to connect with college representatives from a variety of regional colleges and universities," says Bethel College Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Redgina Hill. "Students often gain a greater desire to pursue further education by attending college fairs. This year's fair is going to be a great resource for all local high school students."

3) Lake Michigan College Spring 2016 Community Education Offerings

Low-cost and free classes and workshops on everything from Soap Making to Photography to cooking a romantic dinner to the life and times of Andrew Jackson. 

See the attached file for more info.  Note:  the correct date for Cooking with Herbs is June 11th NOT October 3rd.


4) Homeschool Formal: "The Golden Ticket"

This year's homeschool formal will be called "The Golden Ticket" and will be held on Friday, May 6, from 5:30-11:00 p.m. The event will again be held at The Oaks, 16323 Roosevelt Rd., Mishawaka. Any homeschooler in 9th-12th grade may attend. Many students come in groups and not on dates. We will have food and a DJ to keep us entertained.

Registration is now open. Payment can be made out to Dana DoBrodt and sent to 58896 Elm Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544. The form (attached) needs to be filled out completely, including any guest information. If you are bringing a guest, you are responsible for his or her behavior. Instructions for payment are as follows: if you pay by March 15th (postmarked), the cost is $30 per person; by April 10th, the cost is $35 per person; any date after April 10th is $40 per person. The last few years we have filled up and had to turn people away, so sign up early.

The night is formal, so girls wear dresses and guys wear dress shirts and nice slacks or suits. We will again honor and pray over any seniors. Due to lack of space, parents are asked to take pictures between 5:00-5:30 and then pick up at 11:00. Email Dana at hiddeneagles@att.net with any questions.

The HUB is a volunteer organization.  Without the support and participation of homeschool families, we can't function effectively.  There are several benefits of membership including a resource library that includes things like laptops, video cameras and other items to borrow. Members receive first chance at events and classes when availability is limited.  Information about becoming a member is on the website at www.hshub.org
