TUESDAY June 7th we will have a HUB Field Trip to Chicago to visit The Museum of Science and Industry and/or Adler Planetarium and/or The Field Museum and/or The Museum of Contemporary Art.  All of these museums have a free admission day on Tuesday June 7th, so there is no charge to enter.  You can choose which one(s) to visit.  We will meet at the South Bend Regional Airport at 8:15 AM and take the train to Chicago, so no driving, no worries about the cost of gas, etc.  Yay!  Children under two ride free on a lap.  One child 2-13 rides free with each person over 21.  Other children 2-13 ride for half-price (except on rush hour trains).  One-way adult fare (ages 14 and up): $10.50 to Museum of Science and Industry, $11.15 to the other museums.  If we get enough people going, we will get a group discount.  Pack a lunch or purchase at the museum or elsewhere.  Feel free to invite family and friends.  Everyone is welcome.  Contact Andrea Bikfalvy if you plan to go or if you have questions:  writermom@surfbest.net or 269-240-6094.

B) Pack Food for those in need

Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency receives food through a federal government commodity program.  Volunteers pack the food at the warehouse in Benton Harbor , into smaller boxes, to be delivered to individuals through out southwest Michigan .  (For example, dropped off at the various senior centers.)  Individuals qualify in advance to receive the box of food - a bag of this, a box of that, various canned goods, etc. and it helps them stretch their budget each month.

The warehouse is in need of help packing this week and next, especially - so if you have a couple of hours they would welcome your assistance.  Bring your older kids and do it as a summer project next week.  They are located at 331 Miller in Benton Harbor and are open for packing, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to noon, taking a break for lunch and continuing from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.

If you would like to volunteer in the future , if you need more info or would like to get connected, contact:
