If your student has a favorite rock or fossil, we would love for them to bring it to show or share information about it.  Students will meet one another and the Merit Badge Program will be explained.  Students 10 years and older may be dropped off for pickup again at 4:30, but we ask that students under age 10 be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Any questions about the JEWEL group or need for directions, can be sent to Valerie.

3) News from Diane Day:

Thoroughly Modern Millie will be playing at Bethel College March 26, 27, & 28.  Bethel College will not be doing a school field trip matinee for this play.  They have offered a discount to home schoolers for their Saturday matinee on March 28 at 2 pm.  Adults will be $10 and students $5.  That is $5 off the regular adult admission and $8 off the regular student admission.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is set in the 20's and is about a girl who goes to New York City looking for excitement, fame and fortune.  She sets her sights on marrying money but learns that it is not what life is about.  There is at least one scene that depicts a bar and drinking so keep that in mind.

No seats have been reserved.  Please contact Bethel directly for this play: 574-257-3425.
I will be reserving seats for our group for the 2009/2010 theatre season which promises to be a family friendly line up of at least 1 old favorite.  Check back for updates.
Dessert theatre at Bethel will be performing "Dearly Beloved"  It will take place in July.  I will be getting back with details.  I will not be reserving seats for this performance.

4) Looking for something fun to do on Saturday March 21st?  The Mentoring Collaborative of Southwest Michigan is sponsoring "March Mentoring Expo" at the main stage area near door #4 of Orchards Mall in Benton Harbor on March 21, 2009 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.  Adults, families, teens and children are invited to learn and experience different cultures and the magic of mentoring.  Featured Educational Entertainment will be Michigan State University 's Pilipino American Student Society (PASS) and friends who will be performing and teaching cultural dances as well as hosting a variety of games. Crafts will be provided by the Whirlpool Asian Community where you can learn about other cultures by doing crafts like calligraphy and origami.  Local mentoring organizations will have booths with information on how to become a mentor or how to apply to have a mentor. A limited number of booths are still available for mentoring organizations or schools with tutoring/mentoring programs to join in this event. This program is made possible by a Meijers/Mentor Michigan grant and the Volunteer Center of Southwest Michigan.
