3) Tasty and Healthy - Mexican Style

This looks interesting for students who like to cook.

Niles Dentist, Dr. Beckermeyer, is hosting a FREE natural foods cooking class. The demonstrations will be led by Evelyn Kissinger, MS,RD, who will be teaching how to make tasty vegetarian dishes. Several cooks will assist her in demonstrating their favorite Mexican recipe. Participants will receive samples of the food, as well as recipes to take home.

Recipe demonstrator Sandy Smith says, "I make the Mexican Lasagna for people who aren't vegetarian, and they can't believe there's no meat in it." Demonstrator Lety Goodson says, "Growing up in Mexico, our family ate Ricos Mexican Tacos because we could afford the ingredients. Now I make them for fun and serve to guests!"

Evelyn Kissinger is a registered dietitian who has presented wellness programs, done consulting for health care centers, and given group nutrition therapy since 1982. She is passionate about helping people reach and maintain their lifestyle goals for vibrant health.

The class is a one-time evening event, happening March 10, at 7:00pm, in Dr. Beckermeyer's office at 123 Marmot, Niles MI 49120. Space is limited, and attendees must pre-register by calling (269) 683-6461

For more information contact Cindy Beckermeyer at (269) 683-6461

March 31 - April 2, Duke Energy Convention Center
We are looking forward to an incredible convention - with thousands of homeschoolers attending from about 30-states plus Canada!

Convention pricing is currently only $35 for an Individual registration and $50 for a Family Registration - - while, according to the Pricing information on the website, it should currently be $45 for an Individual Registration and $60 for a Family registration.

Long story short...programming error. (smile)

6) Homeschool Hangout

The Homeschool Hangout is still going strong on the north side of South Bend. It meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 1-3 p.m.  We've had a steady group with lots of boys and a small, but consistent set of girls.  They are playing football in the gym, we have Duplos for the little ones and board games available. People bring what they want to play.

The website with current updates is www.homeschoolhangout.blogspot.com.
