MICHIANA EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES

1) 3rd Annual Homeschool Info Night
2) First Annual Michiana Homeschool Class Reunion
3)  Annual Meeting of the Homeschool HUB

1) 3rd Annual Homeschool Info Night

Lake Michigan College Bertrand Crossing campus in Niles, MI  August 29th from 6-8 pm.  Free refreshments.  Info on clubs, teachers, tutors, classes, groups, and all kinds of stuff.  Bring your Boxtops for Education and Campbell's soup labels.  If you have any educational books or products you no longer need, bring them--we will have a free exchange table--bring what you no longer need, take what you can use.  Tell your friends.  It will be a family-friendly event open to all people, not just homeschoolers.

If you teach a class, offer a service, or run a club or group that would be of interest to homeschoolers, you are invited.  No charge to you.  Get the word out about what you have to offer.    Contact Andrea if you want a table:  andreamom001@gmail.com or 269-240-6094.

2) First Annual Michiana Homeschool Class Reunion

Hey Homeschoolers!  We want to start a yearly class reunion, so we can see all of our old friends again.  The first one will be on Sunday, August 25th from 3 - 8pm at Fuller's on Clear Lake in Buchanan.  The HUB will supply charcoal, lighter fluid, punch and water, and paper products.  Bring meat to grill or a main dish for your family and bring a side dish to share.  Normal admission to Fullers is $1.75 for age 12 and under and $3 for 13 - adult.  They have discounted the adult price to $2 for us....just tell them you are there for the homeschool reunion.

Here's how we picked the date....Jeff Joyce is now a naval officer and will be home on leave.  Jeff and Tara will be there (not Scott, dang it).....and we want a time when they can catch up with all the friends from the Flames, the Wildcats, robotics, chess, and all the other activities where we used to see everyone.  If it rains, we do it the next day, Monday, from 5 - 9pm.  If it rains again, we come the first clear night after the 25th.

The HUB plans to make it a yearly tradition.  Come join the fun!  Fullers has a beach area, beach volleyball, canoes and kayaks to rent, and a concession with great ice cream cones.

Of course, any current homeschoolers are welcome too.  Y'all come!

3)  Annual Meeting of the Homeschool HUB

Calling all members!  Calling anyone who wants to know more about the HUB.  The annual meeting will be at 7pm August 29th at the Info Night.  Anyone who has questions or anything he wishes to discuss is welcome.
